 ELTON JOHN NEWS

Elton John and band performed in Helsinki on November 29, 2005
Wednesday, November 30 2005

Fan report by Jouni Nippala.

Elton John kicked off the European leg of his tour with the band and Voice of Atlanta Choir in Hartwall Arena, Helsinki Finland on November 29, 2005.

The keyboards were played by Lindsay Vannoy. Choir joined the band during Philadelphia Freedom and onwards.

Elton was in a good mood and the show was very energetic and powerful. He seemed to be in a hurry though, because the show was over in 2 hours and
15 minutes with only one encore.

Also the setlist was a bit shorter than in USA with only three songs from the Peachtree Road album. The Finnish audience, always polite but a bit strained in the beginning, warmed up well during uptempo numbers and the audience was allowed to the stagefront during "I`m Still Standing".

Before "Answer In the Sky" Elton mentioned that he has been touring Europe since 1970 but that this was going to be his last tour in Europe! He thanked the audiences for being very loyal but said that this is it!

Well, he has been known to make this kind of announcements many times before, so we`ll wait and see!

Following is the complete setlist of the Helsinki show on November 29, 2005:

  • Your Song
  • Bennie And The Jets
  • Daniel
